The tenders ran frequently and there was never much of a line. The buffet shuts at 10 pm in the evening though, so late-night noise is unlikely – but you may be woken earlier than you would like. You may also experience noise from crew members cleaning/preparing food or cleaning away at the end of the day. On our cruise, my parents had an aft balcony cabin, suggested to us by the group travel agent, Emma Otter. This cost no more than a standard balcony cabin, but had one major drawback, an obstructed review. We used it many times to order drinks and food in the room.

The buffet food was good and there was always a good selection to choose from. The handwashing stations at the entrances to the buffet were used sporadically by the guests. Once inside the terminal there were plenty of staff who directed everyone where to go.

The ship left Bar Harbor later than expected. The full tenders were still running past the original posted sail away time. The size of these suites varies a great deal, from around 460 sq ft for a Vista suite to a huge 777 Sq Ft for an Owners Suite. One problem people mention is that it is easy to sleep – and sleep – and sleep in an inside cabin. My family stayed in an inside cabin for 12 nights onboard P&O’s Ventura and this review is based on that cabin which is identical to those found on Emerald Princess. Another relaxing sea day with many activities to choose from. St John/Bay of Fundy- At St. John we booked the Bay of Fundy Coast to Shore Tour with shoreexcursiongroup.com. We met the tour bus a block from the cruise terminal.
When I ordered wine, I would just ask the waiter to make sure it was in the Plus package. So we definitely found a variety of delicious food choices all week that we liked. There is a daily carving section with meat like roast beef, turkey breast, roast pork, brisket, roasted chicken, and beef wellington. A variety of eye-catching desserts on display.

The restaurant overlooks the Bay of Fundy and a large sea cave that was carved into a sandstone cliff. Because it was low tide, we were able to walk out onto the rocky flats and explore. The next stop was in town where you can visit several small shops and see a couple of covered bridges. Because it was low tide, several fishing boats were out of the water on supports waiting for the tide to come back in. Here, the difference between high and low tide can be over 20 feet. On the way back in St John we stopped at the old City Market.
I use flat magnets to place this on the wall. Overall, we found the cabin quite comfortable. Later that night we learned that there are motion lights located at the base of the nightstands for safety at night when getting up in the dark cabin. This was helpful, except that sometimes it would go on if you roll over in bed and the bedding moves. In addition the ceiling light outside of the bathroom and next to the closet is also motion-sensored and way too bright for us in the middle of the night. Outside of the door on the digital screen, at the bottom, are spots to indicate you want your room serviced or do not disturb, which is very helpful for your room steward.
We had the Princess Plus package that included the Plus drinks. We found most all the drinks we wanted throughout the cruise were covered with that. Sometimes a higher end alcohol wouldn’t be included.
